Vascular Surgery

Vascular surgery is a division of surgery that focuses on arteries and veins. Vascular surgeons treat diseases of the blood vessels excluding the heart.

Teamwork is one of SCSP's core values.  Collaboration with other specialists, primary care physicians, patients and family helps us deliver the most effective care for each patient.  Together we evaluate and discuss all treatment options to identify the best procedure for each patient.

Expert care for complex disorders is the focus of our vascular team.  Our surgeons treat patients with:

• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA)
• Arterial disease 
• Angioplasty and stents
• Bypass surgery
• Venous disease
• Blood clots
• Varicose veins

Advanced diagnostic tools allow our team to rapidly identify vascular problems. We are a fully-accredited vascular laboratory and offer a full array of diagnostic testing.

Non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures are alternatives to more involved surgery, sometimes using a catheter or medication to clear blockages. Minimally invasive procedures offer:

• Shorter recovery period
• Less pain
• Minimal scarring
• Less tissue injury

Multiple locations allow our surgeons and technicians to see patients all across Metro Detroit at either an SCSP facility or a nearby hospital.
