On Saturday, May 19, 2007, SCSP participated in the “Relay for Life” for the American Cancer Society (ACS) at the Farms Pier in Grosse Pointe Farms. We had a number of volunteers and Dr. Beeai and I would like to personally thank the following employees for their assistance on or before that day that helped make it a huge success:
Gary Abud Jr. and girlfriend Janice, Gail Makos and daughter Lindsey, Bridget Stroka, and friend Susan, daughter Heather and grandchildren, Lisa Wolfe, Kim Johnson and daughter Ahmyre, Dr. Paduvana, Wendy Leach and son Kory, Kathy Root, Sarah Erskine-Willey, Teresa Kozlowski, daughter Ava and Linda Ruby, Margie Brown and sister Jackie, Yvette Latham, and Christine Pietras.
Through the fundraising success of our “Friday Jeans Day”, our patients, and the employees and physicians, SCSP raised a total of $1,890. The preliminary grand total for the 24 hour event was $85,000 and growing. Please enjoy the enclosed article published in the Grosse Pointe News which discusses the great success of the event and the hope that is offered to patients and families through this tremendous effort.
The grand prize winner of a day off with pay was Wendy Leach, medical assistant – Shelby Township office. Second prize went to Ofelia Fermil, medical technologist – Detroit office. She won the “Ultimate Snack Stack” from the Detroit Popcorn Company. Finally, special thanks go out to Christine Pietras, who was instrumental in coordinating the event for SCSP and served as the main contact for SCSP. Thank-you Christine for your hard work… it was much appreciated!
